At the core of Tapo C425 is its 2K QHD resolution, offering 1.7 times more pixels than standard 1080p cameras for noticeably clearer video and crisper photos. Paired with a 150° super-wide diagonal field of view, it captures a much wider area than typical fixed-lens cameras.
Installation is where Tapo C425 truly stands out. Its magnetic base attaches to any metal surface in seconds, and the included metal plate makes mounting possible on non-metal walls too. Once installed, the camera angle can be adjusted by hand at any time, without removing it from its base.
Smart detection plays a major role in reducing unnecessary alerts. Tapo C425 uses free AI technology to accurately identify people, pets, and vehicles, cutting down on false notifications while also helping extend battery life. Customizable activity zones let users focus alerts on the areas that matter most.
Night monitoring is equally capable, offering full-color night vision through built-in spotlights and a starlight sensor, in addition to standard IR night vision reaching up to 98 feet. This gives users the flexibility to choose vivid color footage or more discreet infrared recording after dark.
Power efficiency is a major strength as well. A 10,000mAh built-in battery allows Tapo C425 to run for up to 300 days on a single charge under average use. For continuous, maintenance-free operation, an optional Tapo solar panel can be added separately to keep the battery topped up indefinitely.
