Description
For venues that need to serve massive numbers of connected devices outdoors, the TP-Link EAP668-Outdoor HD is built specifically for high-density Wi-Fi 6 performance. Designed for factories, stadiums, schools, hotels, and other busy public spaces, it supports up to 1,024 concurrent devices on a single access point.
Wireless performance comes from a dual-band AX3600 design, delivering 1148 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz, for combined speeds up to 3.6 Gbps. Four detachable, high-gain N-Type omni antennas rated at 6 dBi on both bands help maintain strong signal quality even when hundreds of clients are connected simultaneously.
Connectivity options set the TP-Link EAP668-Outdoor apart from typical outdoor access points. Instead of a single Ethernet port, it includes a 2.5G PoE-in port, a Gigabit PoE-out port, and a 10G SFP+ slot for fiber backhaul. The PoE-out port is particularly useful, allowing the TP-Link EAP668-Outdoor HD to pass power and data to nearby devices like outdoor security cameras through a single connected cable.
Durability is engineered for extreme deployments. The unit carries an IP68-rated weatherproof enclosure, ±4kV to 6kV lightning surge protection, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +70°C — figures well beyond standard outdoor access points, making it suitable for harsh climates, coastal installations, and industrial sites.
Bluetooth support is also built in, enabling location-based services and IoT integrations alongside standard Wi-Fi connectivity. Combined with an LTE filter to reduce interference from nearby cellular infrastructure, the access point is designed to stay stable even in electromagnetically noisy outdoor environments.
Like the rest of TP-Link’s Omada lineup, the TP-Link EAP668-Outdoor integrates fully into the Omada SDN ecosystem. This enables centralized cloud management, Omada Mesh for extended coverage across multiple units, and seamless roaming so connected devices switch access points without interruption as users move through large venues.
Physically, the unit measures 240 x 80 x 312 mm and ships with a mounting kit compatible with wall and pole installations, along with a waterproofing kit for secure outdoor cable connections.
Altogether, the TP-Link EAP668-Outdoor HD is purpose-built for organizations that need enterprise-grade capacity outdoors — combining high device density, fast Wi-Fi 6 speeds, industrial-strength weatherproofing, and flexible fiber or copper backhaul in one rugged access point.
